Scenic Area Introduction


The Longganhu Scenic Area is located in Dongxiacao Village, southeast of Baiyangping Town in Enshi City. It borders Sancha Township to the east, Longfeng Town to the west, Sancha Township to the south, and Xiongjiayan Village to the north. It is 20 kilometers from Enshi’s central urban area, 5.5 kilometers from the eastern exit of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway in Enshi, and adjacent to National Highway 318. The area is entirely surrounded by mountain ranges, with a scenic area covering 1.8 square kilometers. The air is humid, sunlight is abundant, the forests are lush, and the mountains and waters are picturesque—making it an ideal location for developing agricultural production.

The Longganhu Tourist Area, with its ideal altitude and the mysterious geographic location at 30° north latitude, boasts a unique climate and natural beauty. The area features a subtropical monsoon humid mountain climate characterized by mild temperatures, distinct four seasons, warm winters, and cool summers. The annual average temperature is 18°C, and annual precipitation amounts to 1,400 millimeters. The景区’s average elevation is 900 meters, with a forest coverage rate of 85%. The concentration of negative oxygen ions reaches 2,690 ions/cm³, and the average summer temperature is 25°C.

The Longgan Lake Tourist Area boasts lush greenery everywhere you look. Coupled with its rich biodiversity, the scenery is breathtaking in all four seasons, making it a true natural oxygen bar and a premier summer retreat. Within its borders, mountains encircle the area, dense forests and bamboo groves thrive, lakes and islands greet visitors, ancient villages dot the landscape, and the local customs remain authentically simple and unspoiled. Gentle streams babble softly, and tea fields shimmer with vibrant greenery. As you stroll through this enchanting place, you’ll find yourself gazing into the distance at misty mountain ranges wreathed in clouds, while up close, you’ll notice wisps of smoke rising from rustic farmhouses. The sounds of chickens and dogs echo faintly in your ears—memories of childhood, dreams of youth, the journey of middle age, and the peaceful haven of old age—all seem to unfold before your eyes in an instant, stirring deep feelings of nostalgia and affection for your homeland. The interplay of mountain lakes, wetlands, and terraced tea fields creates a picturesque scene; meanwhile, intangible cultural heritage such as lantern opera, selenium-rich tea culture, and Tujia folk traditions collectively imbue the area with both natural beauty and cultural richness, offering visitors a unique blend of scenic views and recreational experiences.

In addition, the scenic area is situated along the Enshi Suobuya Ecological Corridor Tourism Development Axis and within a geological wonder tourism zone. It boasts abundant resources of mountains, water, forests, and tea, providing exceptionally favorable conditions for tourism development. The area is also located adjacent to Enshi’s key tourist attractions and lies on one of Enshi City’s four major tourism development axes, which will attract even more tourists to this region.
