Following the completion of the first batch of 45 “Enshi Specialty Products Stores” in Wuhan last year, Enshi Prefecture in Hubei Province recently launched a project to establish 30 “Enshi Specialty Products Stores” in medium- and large-sized cities across Hubei Province as well as in cities including Wuhan, Beijing, Hangzhou, Chongqing, and Chengdu. Among these stores, 20 will be flagship stores and 10 will be regular directly operated stores.
It is understood that these “Enshi Specialty Product Stores” will be certified by the Enshi Prefecture Agricultural Products Circulation Industry Association. The initiative aims to further expand sales channels for Enshi’s local specialties, enhance the brand recognition of Enshi’s specialty products, and promote wider distribution and stronger marketing of Enshi’s high-quality, authentic local specialties across the country.

Located in the heart of the Wuling Mountains, Enshi Prefecture boasts a unique natural environment that has nurtured a wide variety of high-quality, specialty agricultural products. Today, eight major industries—tea, tobacco, vegetables, medicinal herbs, fruits, livestock, grains, and honey—are largely integrated into complete industrial chains. The prefecture has established 7 million mu of specialized industrial bases and last year successfully became Hubei Province’s first “National-level Prefecture for Agricultural Product Quality and Safety.”
Relying on its distinctive resource advantages—such as "earth, selenium, tea, cool climate, and greenery"—Enshi Prefecture has developed a brand portfolio known as the "Enshi Series," including products like "Enshi Selenium Tea," "Enshi Yulu," "Lichuan Red," and "Enshi Potatoes." Nearly a thousand "Enshi Selenium Tea" experience and sales outlets have been established in cities such as Wuhan, Beijing, and Shanghai. Last year, Wuhan saw the initial establishment of 45 "Enshi Specialty Products Specialty Stores" and 25 model catering establishments.
It is worth noting that Enshi Prefecture has adopted a strategy of “government guidance plus market leadership,” using consumption assistance as a key lever to effectively stimulate market vitality and vigorously promote industrial development. Statistical data show that over the past four years, the “832 Platform” has achieved cumulative online sales totaling 6.511 billion yuan, accounting for 16.06% of the nation’s total sales volume. For four consecutive years, Enshi Prefecture has ranked first among all prefectural-level cities nationwide, and all eight counties and cities in Enshi Prefecture have consistently ranked within the top 10 nationwide in terms of transaction volume.
A relevant official from the Enshi Prefecture government said that the construction of “Enshi Specialty Products Specialty Stores” is being carried out according to the principles of “government guidance, market-led approach, independent construction, and performance-based subsidies.” Specifically, 10 generally operated directly-managed stores that pass the acceptance inspection will receive subsidies of no more than 50,000 yuan per store; meanwhile, 20 flagship stores that pass the acceptance inspection will receive subsidies of no more than 100,000 yuan per store. At the same time, the official emphasized that operating entities should primarily focus on selling specialty products from Enshi Prefecture, with the proportion of such products in their sales accounting for at least 70%. Furthermore, the annual procurement amount of local specialty products from Enshi’s place of origin should, in principle, not be less than 2 million yuan (3 million yuan for flagship stores). For those failing to meet the 2 million-yuan (3 million-yuan) threshold, subsidies will be awarded proportionally based on actual amounts spent.

A relevant official from the Enshi Prefecture Supply and Marketing Cooperative stated that the cooperative will focus on connecting producers and consumers, organize various forms of supply-and-demand matchmaking activities, and actively enter major and medium-sized cities. They will continue to promote initiatives such as “Bringing Selenium-Rich Products into Wuhan,” “Bringing Selenium-Rich Products into Hangzhou,” and “Bringing Selenium-Rich Products into Beijing,” making more green, high-quality agricultural products readily available on citizens’ tables.
